Chris and Melissa have three 'kids' - Liam, Brindley and Connor - and are originally from Western Australia. For 13 years prior to pastoral ministry Chris qualified and worked as a Cabinet Maker, worked in the Mining and Building industries in the Goldfields of WA, and was owner/manager of a small furniture manufacturing business in Kalgoorlie.
Upon moving to Sydney NSW in 2001 to commence full-time Ministry and Theological studies at Morling College, Chris continued to work part-time in the entertainment industry as a casual-driver for bands and film crews in and around Sydney.
"Integrating faith with work has been a passion of mine for some time, and gaining a love for people from a diverse range of backgrounds and life-experiences, has been invaluable in preparing for pastoral ministry. My hope is to help equip the local Church to live-out their faith in Jesus, across all areas of life."
After serving with a couple of Baptist Churches in Sydney, the family moved to the Manning Valley in 2012 to serve with TBC. Chris now serves as board chair for the ministry of Taree Christian College, is involved with the NSW State Council for Christian Schools Australia (CSA), and co-serves as an honorary Police Chaplain for the Manning Great Lakes PAC.
"One thing all people seem to have in common, is an innate desire to find meaning and purpose in their lives. I'm convinced that the Gospel of Jesus - known, trusted and lived - is the ultimate fulfilment to those human longings. God's love shown in His son Jesus, compels us to love and serve people in the same Way."
